What a day! we set up at beautiful Canterbury village for a performance of some of our favorite music. The Hippie Fest drew hundreds of people, and we were excited to see dozens of stealie shirts in the audience. After setting up the band and expert sound reinforcement from our friend Eric, we jumped right into an energetic Jack Straw. Some of our favorite moments include Eyes of the World, the jam in Playing in the Band, and our debut of Feel Like A Stranger. We had a power dropout in Sugar Magnolia which turned into a drum solo (we meant to do that, right?)
We met lots of new fans, and hope to be back again next year! Raising The Dead will be performing at "Hippies in the Village," a celebration of all things hippie at Canterbury Village in Lake Orion, MI on Saturday, July 28 from 4-7pm. We plan to bring the jams and a little bit of that sweet San Francisco sound to the festival. Admission is free, and the Festival will showcase over a hundred artists and vendors offering an endless array of goodies and demonstrations, alongside family-friendly entertainment for all ages. RSVP on Facebook. Wow! It was a perfect, 80-degree summer afternoon when we took the Riverfront stage at the Wyandotte Street Art Fair. Last year, we'd played the showmobile stage, so it was a huge step up to the big rig. Our buddy Joe Giese dialed in a fantastic mix, and the pros running monitors on stage were responsive and gave us just what we needed to rock. We quickly settled into our comfort zone and played a new-best set. The show was broadcast live to over 200 Facebook fans, until half-way through the second set, when the recording hit a hiccup and stopped. Nevertheless, we brought some cameras to archive the set, and you can watch most of the first set now! Some of our most dedicated fans showed, and we had a chance to introduce ourselves to some new ones. We debuted Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and El Paso, and finally got to play Terrapin for an audience. Thanks to everyone who joined us on a Wednesday afternoon either live or online. |
